CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) and CERTIFICATION CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS


You can receive NICET Recertification CPD and/or Continuing Education Units (for re-certification) by attending CAFAA meetings, events or training, or simply being a member of CAFAA.

NICET requires 90 CPD points every three years. per certification. CAFAA meeting and training attendees can claim points in two of the categories: Advance Profession and Additional Education.

ADVANCE PROFESSION:

        • Professional Society Activity (involvement with organizations; e.g. CAFAA membership) that unify individuals in a career area and promote technical knowledge and pertinent practice area techniques)
        • 1 year of society membership—1 CPD point per society per year (12 pts. maximum). 
        • Attending a society meeting — 1 CPD point per meeting (15 points, maximum).  

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION:

        • Education Sessions related to NICET specialty — 1 point per hour of instruction.

CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS (CEH) FOR RE-CERTIFICATION

CAFAA will provide you with a certificate which documents the applicable number of your CAFAA training, conference and/or meeting Continuing Education Hours (CEH).  

To convert CAFAA CEHs to CEUs for the purpose of re-certification, the WBFAA do the conversion.
