CAFAA EVENTS, GENERAL MEETINGS and ANNUAL CONFERENCE
CAFAA sponsors many events throughout the year in Northern and Southern California with the goal of:
Bi-monthly General Meetings: conducted alternately in each of the two regions; this is a board of directors meeting open to all who wish to attend.
Annually, CAFAA hosts the State Agency Forum in Sacramento, CA. The format of the meeting is a Question and Answer (Q&A) disussion, where representatives from the California State Fire Marshal’s Office, Division of the State Architect, Division of Occupational Safety and Health Planning & Development and the Building Standards Commission are invited to address the questions posed by the attendees which includes CAFAA members, CAFAA’s Board of Directors, Manufacturer’s and AHJs. These meeting are open to all.
A Lunch and Learning session is sometimes paired with the State Agency Forum meeting. The Learning session provides for an educational presentation on a topic of current/special interest to the industry. This session is open to all.
Once a year in each region, CAFAA hosts the AHJ Roundtable. These meetings are held in different areas within each region and are Q&A sessions with 3-4 AHJ area-representative panelists that respond to the questions posed by the attendees. These meetings are open to all.
Once a year, a Board-Only meeting is held for the CAFAA Board of Directors for the purpose of discussing the association business and to conduct the planning for upcoming events.
Since 1970, CAFAA has hosted an Annual Meeting with the purpose of providing the attendees with information and educational presentations and discussions relative to the Fire Alarm industry and our code environment.
2020 VIRTUAL MEETINGS
In light of the travel and large gathering restrictions due to Covid 19, CAFAA has restructured the format for the June 11, 2020 (SoCal AHJ Roundtable) and the August 13, 2020 (NorCal AHJ Roundtable) meetings, as well as the CAFAA General Meetings that would have preceded the Roundtables.
All of these meetings will be conducted via the internet.
